Lord Marland takes WH Ireland stake above 8%

Former Tory MP Lord Marland has once again lifted his stake in WH Ireland - three days after pouring £100,000 into the firm.

Marland, who was part of a consortium which invested £2.9 million into the stockbroker in 2008, earlier this week bought an additional 165,000 shares in WH Ireland, worth an estimated £94,000.

Lord Marland's latest transaction has seen the former Conservative politician take his holding above 8.1%, with a note to the stock market announcing he now owns 1,934,359 shares worth a total £1.17 million at a share price of 61p.

The two transactions come shortly after WH Ireland named Richard Killingbeck (pictured) as its new wealth head following the shock departure of Paul Compton, who was understood to have left his post amid an investigation into his personal share dealings.
