About Kokkie Kooyman

Born in Schiedam in the Netherlands in 1954, Kokkie Kooyman graduated with a BComm degree and is a Chartered Accountant from South Africa. He started his career as a lecturer at UCT in 1979 and joined Truworths in 1983 where he was the head of internal audit. In 1986 he joined Replin Finance as a financial director. Kokkie started his asset management career in 1989 with Old Mutual and in 1999 he joined Coronation. He moved to Sanlam Investment Management in 2004 where he is currently the chief executive officer, head of global equities and portfolio manager. In his spare time, Kokkie enjoys running and swimming and also visiting South Africa's national parks to view the wildlife.
