Mark Harris appointed fund of funds head at Henderson

Mark Harris been appointed head of multi-manager at Henderson.
Harris assumes the mantle from Bill McQuaker, who remains head of equities at the firm where he will continue to run the £194 million Henderson Income & Growth , £30.6 million Henderson Distribution and £91 million Henderson Growth.
Harris will assume the role at the start of 2010 and will lead an eight-strong team, which will also be bolstered by the addition of Paul Craig, who runs Henderson's Investment Trust fund of funds .
Commenting on news, McQuaker indicated he would continue to run money for the foreseeable furture: 'I have always enjoyed managing money and will, therefore, continue to do so. I feel this will ensure that my decisions as head of equities are grounded in the practical as well as the strategic.'
Meanwhile Harris underlined the ambitions of the team. 'Given the depth of knowledge and experience of the combined multi-manager team here at Henderson, I believe we can become the leading provider of multi-manager funds in the UK market.'
