Mattioli Woods plans rebrand after acquisition drive
by Brian Cantwell on Aug 30, 2013 at 09:08
Sipp provider and advice firm Mattioli Woods is planning a rebrand to bring its series of acquisitions under the group name.
Mattioli Woods bought Newmarket-based IFA Atkinson Bolton last month in a £6 million deal. In August 2011 it bought employee benefits business Kudos while the previous year it bought pension administration provider City Trustees.
Mattioli Woods chairman Bob Woods said the different divisions would be brought under the Mattioli Woods Wealth Management or Employee Benefits names under the rebrand, planned for the beginning of next year.
‘[The rebrand] is going to be in the first quarter of next year, [companies] will fall within the remit of Mattioli Woods Employee Benefits, or Mattioli Woods Wealth Management’ said Woods.
‘When we do [the rebrand] it will be a lot clearer to the market and when we make future acquisition it will be a lot easier to plug in new companies’ said Woods.
Mattioli Woods chief executive Ian Mattioli added: ‘It’s a heart and minds thing, we’re a people company at the end of the day, we want to carry our people with us and they’re very proud of the businesses they worked to create.’
‘Over the last three years if you looked at our Kudos marketing literature, bit by bit we have been bringing staff and clients along with the change, so the rebrand next year will be a natural progression.
However, it is not yet clear whether the City Trustees brand could survive in some form. ‘It would be wrong to say that we had made a decision to drop the City Trustees brand, it might sit within Mattioli Woods Wealth Management’ said finance director Nathan Imlach.
