Milburn gets co-manager as Kames reshuffles high yield line-up
by David Campbell on Sep 02, 2013 at 10:55
McGuckin, who joined the business last year from Legal & General IM, replaces Melanie Mitchell (pictured), who is to step down from the position to manage investment grade portfolios within the company.
The company has also recruited Stephen Baines from Oriel Asset Management who joins as fixed income manager within the high yield team.
‘I would like to congratulate Claire on her promotion to co-manager with me on the Kames High Yield and thank Melanie for her valuable contribution in making the high yield team the success it is today,’ said Milburn in a statement.
‘When she joined me in 2009 as support manager on the fund it was just the two of us, whereas now we have a strong team of four responsible for £2 billion in assets in high yield strategies. I would like to wish Melanie well as she goes back to running investment grade portfolios.
‘Finally I would like to welcome Stephen to the team; he has a broad range of experience from his nine years in fund management and will be an asset to the team.’
Over the last five years the Kames High Yield Bond fund has returned 74.94% versus an average peer return of 52.7%.
