Miton launches UK Value Opportunities fund
Markets
by Emma Dunkley on Mar 13, 2013 at 12:05
Miton Group is launching the CF Miton UK Value Opportunities fund for managers George Godber and Georgina Hamilton.
The fund will focus on finding value opportunities in the UK market, looking at companies with sound financial backing which are undervalued, to form a portfolio that significantly differs from the FTSE All-Share index.
The managers will take an unconstrained approach and can invest across the whole UK equity market capitalisation spectrum.
Godber and Hamilton joined Miton from Matterley, where Godber was co-manager and Hamilton was an analyst for the flagship IM Matterley Undervalued Assets Fund.
Godber said in a statement: ‘In the post credit boom world with lower growth and reduced liquidity, stock correlation is beginning to break down.
‘This fund will aim to discover the very best value opportunities in the market, while trying to avoid stocks which look great value on the surface, but on closer inspection, are expensive.
