Miton reunites ex-Gartmore US equity team with Grieves hire

Miton has hired Hugh Grieves for its new US equity arm.

Grieves joins Miton from Herald Investment Management, where he managed the Herald Worldwide fund, which according to Lipper has returned 44.2% over the three years to 23 January compared to a 32% rise in the benchmark.

Grieves will work alongside former Gartmore colleague Nick Ford to co-manage the CF Miton US Opportunities fund, which is scheduled to launch in the spring.

Commenting on the hire, Miton managing director Gervais Williams said: 'He [Grieves] has extensive knowledge and experience of the sector through managing a number of US equity funds, with a strong track record of delivering outperformance.

'Hugh and Nick worked together at Gartmore and so, collectively we have a talented team with a tried and tested track record in place, giving investors the confidence to support our new US fund launch.'
