Smith & Williamson Investment Management has promoted Mickey Morrissey to head of distribution.
The appointment follows Nick Hodgson’s appointment as head of marketing for the Smith & Williamson group.
Morrissey (pictured) spent a decade as head of distribution at Liontrust, joining from Mercury Asset Management where he worked for 12 years. He joined Smith & Williamson in 2012 to promote the discretionary fund management business to the professional financial advisory sector.
'I am delighted to have the opportunity to help build our pooled funds and DFM business at such an exciting time. We have ambitious plans to grow this side of Smith & Williamson and it is great to lead the sales initiative, working alongside a group of talented and experienced fund managers,' Morrissey said.
Former City Financial chief Ed Rosengarten, who recently joined Smith & Williamson to head up the funds business said the appointment supported the firm's ambitious plans for the firm over the coming years.
