Neil Woodford picks off more Invesco alumni for new venture

Neil Woodford’s new venture Oakley Capital has announced that it has recruited Colonial First State’s head of institutional business Neil Hamilton to work in its retail distribution division.

Hamilton will work alongside Craig Newman, formerly head of sales at Invesco Perpetual and head of retail asset management at Oakley. Before joining First State, Hamilton spent nine years as Invesco Perpetual’s head of global equity products.

‘Nick brings a wealth of experience in growing assets, building businesses and leading teams,’ said Newman. ‘Nick shares our vision of building a market leading asset management business of the future.’

Oakley is currently building the infrastructure to enable Woodford to begin managing retail and institutional money once he has served out his notice period to the end of April 2014.
