New Star's Richard Pease commits to Henderson
Markets
by Drazen Jorgic on Mar 30, 2009 at 10:38
New Star Asset Management fund manager Richard Pease and his European team is to join Henderson Global Investors.
Citywire originally disclosed that Pease would join Henderson at the time it was announced that the firm was buying New Star, because he was one of the main board directors who had committed to move with the assets - at least for a transitional period.
However, Pease expressed further desire to cross over to Henderson earlier in the month when he put €500,000 of his own money into the European Growth fund he manages.
He has now confirmed that he will be actively running money at Henderson for the long-term.
Nick Sheridan, who manages the European Value fund is to join Pease at Henderson in April when the transition from New Star to Henderson is completed. The team also includes analyst James Milne.
Pease said: 'I am pleased to confirm I will be joining Henderson along with my European colleagues - subject to the completion of the deal - in early April. In business, confidence is very important and I am therefore delighted the deal with Henderson now provides a stable environment which managers can operate in.'
Henderson chief investment officer David Jacob added: 'This is a great endorsement. To have Richard and his team join our strong line up of European equity managers , which includes Stephen Peak, Tim Stevenson and Paul Casson, will make our European equity boutique one of the most comprehensive and experienced in the market.'
