Architas appoints co-manager to £200m real assets fund

Architas appoints co-manager to £200m real assets fund

Architas has hired Mayank Markanday (pictured) from Russell Investments to serve as manager in its real assets team.

In his new role, he will co-manage a number of portfolios including the Diversified Real Assets fund, the Diversified Global Income Fund and the MM Monthly High Income fund and act as deputy portfolio manager on the Multi-Asset Blended range.

Markanday will also be the sector lead on UK fixed income and the fixed income side of the alternatives sector, such as asset-backed securities.

He most recently spent 10 years at Russell, responsible for the Russell Real Assets fund, as well as being deputy on the Russell Multi-Asset Growth fund and a global equity manager research analyst.

Architas Jaime Aruello said: ‘Mayank has extensive experience in creating and running multi-asset and multi-manager portfolios.

'This fits perfectly with the Architas investment approach. While his fixed income and real assets knowledge means he is well suited to co-managing our range of specialist funds.

‘Mayank will co-manage the Diversified Real Assets fund that is now over £200 million just three years since launch. This fund continues to appeal to advisers who are seeking diversification within portfolios as well as a degree of inflation protection and a potential income stream.’
