Armstrong IM hires Newedge’s Tournant in push for expansion

Armstrong Investment Managers has appointed Vincent Tournant to the newly-created role of chief operating officer, while making two additional hires to help expand the business.

Tournant, who has also been made a partner at the firm, was previously global head of origination and structuring at Newedge Prime brokerage in London.

He was responsible for the coordination of sales strategy, client acquisition and product development, targeting single manager hedge funds and CTAs, as well as end investors allocating into alternative strategies like managed account platforms, sovereign wealth funds and fund of funds.

Ana Armstrong (pictured), chief executive officer of the firm, said: ‘We are very excited about the addition of Vincent at a key time in our partnership’s development.'

The newly created COO role will facilitate a structured expansion of our firm and Vincent’s years of experience in business development in our key growth markets will also assist in the continued expansion of our organisation.’

AIM has also hired Philip Riris as an analyst and Andy Hutcheon as a sales manager.

Riris joins from Avalon Capital Markets where he worked in investment research, while Hutcheon previously worked at AH Consultants and Barlcays Wealth.
