Ashcourt Rowan research head Scrimger exits

Ashcourt Rowan fund selection head Alan Scrimger has left to join IPS Capital.

Scrimger has taken on the role of head of portfolio construction and will develop the firm’s proposition. He will work alongside former Wealth Manager cover star Jonathan Blain and co-chief investment officer Chris Brown.

Scrimger spent nearly two years at Ashcourt Rowan and overhauled its fund research process. He joined from Standard Life Investments (SLI), where he worked as head of multi-manager research.

Ashcourt Rowan chief executive Jonathan Polin (pictured) said: ‘Alan did an excellent job in restructuring our best advice list for fund research as a consultant, under chief investment officer Toni Meadows.

‘Now that we have finished the process he was asked to achieve and completed the purchase of UKWM, it is important that the new combined team take over the reins.’

During Scrimger’s time at SLI, he helped to create its MyFolio fund of funds range, which has attracted over £1.2 billion of assets since launch in 2010. Prior to that, he was head of portfolio construction at Ermitage and formerly had a stint at Lloyds.

IPS Capital launched just over 10 years ago and manages over £380 million.
