Barclays has appointed Lisa Francis as head of its UK and Ireland private banking division.

Francis (pictured), who assumes the post CEO, private bank, UK and Ireland, moves across from Barclays' investment banking division, where she was head of European corporate FX sales distribution. In this role she covered corporate, private equity and fintech clients across Europe and the UK.

Barclays International CEO for private banking and overseas services Karen Frank said: 'Lisa brings over 25 years of banking experience, a proven track record of growing businesses and strong client relationships with the UK, European and global corporates.

'[Her] background, technical expertise and strong network of relationships will be of great benefit as we continue to invest in and grow [our] private bank and overseas services and help our clients navigate through global markets.'
