Barclays W&I vice president becomes St James’s Place partner

A former Barclays Wealth & Investment Managament vice president has joined St James’s Place (SJP).

Dave Ingham, who had responsibility for a team in the North at Barclays Wealth, was with the bank for over 16 years and has been appointed by SJP as a partner in Leeds.

Prior to Barclays, which he joined in 2000, he briefly worked at WH Ireland as a compliance analyst. SJP confirmed his appointment, but would not provide details on his role.

Back in August, Wealth Manager revealed that Barclays lost a number of senior wealth managers to rival Julius Baer, which is to open offices in Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow to be led by the new recruits.

Following the departures, Barclays made a number of appointments.

Last month it named a new West Scotland and Northern Ireland head, Craig Jamieson. The firm also appointed Nick Keenan, who is responsible for the growth and national distribution of wealth planning services across Barclays Wealth, as head of its North East team.

Ingham is one of several wealth managers to move over to SJP as a partner in recent months.

The company has been swooping on staff exiting other businesses, including Brewin Dolphin’s former Plymouth office head, who set up Brian James Wealth Management with SJP.
