The UK has now become a hotbed of billionairs, according The Sunday Times super rich list published over the weekend. The UK is home to more than 100 billionaires for the first time in history, while London has the highest number of super-rich compared to any other city in the world.

Sri and Gopi Hinduja

Nowadays the multinational conglomerate group has interests in oil, automotive, banking, property and media.

Ernesto ran the family's Serono pharmaceuticals company until it was sold for $13.3 billion to Merch of Germany. He now invests heavily in UK property and is investing £500 million through Bertarelli- backed Crosstree Real Estate Partners.He has also won the America's Cup yachting race twice.

Further down in 40th place, we see Hargreaves Lansdown owner Peter Hargreaves make an appearance. He saw his wealth rise by £867 million in 2013, largely thanks to the doubling of HL's share price in 2013 from £6.81 to £13.54.

Not to be left out, Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Stephen Lansdown (pictured, right) comes in as the UK's 64th richest person after seeing a £550 million rise in his wealth in 2013 to £1.45 billion. However his wealth has risen at a slower pace following the disposal of significant stakes in recent years, which was reinvested in a number of personal projects, including Bristol City football club.
