Mawby (pictured), who joined the business from ECM Asset Management in September 2012, has been placed on gardening leave.

Co-manager Andy Li, who joined the firm in 2014, will become sole manager on the £100 million Man GLG Global Corporate Bond fund and the £254 million Man GLG Strategic Bond fund.

He will report to new Man GLG credit chief investment officer Simon Finch.

In the three years to the end of March the Strategic Bond fund has returned 3.8%, underperforming the peer group average of 9.2%. More recently it has fared better, returning 4.4% against the sector average of 2%.

Meanwhile the Corporate Bond fund has returned 1.2% over the last year versus a sector average of 1.6%.
