Brown Shipley hires Investec private boss to head London

Brown Shipley has hired Investec Wealth & Investment private office boss Andrew Butler-Cassar in the newly created role of head of its London office.

Butler-Cassar (pictured) has headed the division for three years, having joined the business via its acquisition of Willaims de Broe. Previous roles include head of corporate development, head of London and senior investment director.

Before joining the group he worked at Lloyds Private Bank as a senior relationship manager.

He will report into the company’s head of private banking Guy Healey, who said: ‘Andrew is an experienced senior leader in the wealth management industry with a proven track record for growth, an entrepreneurial spirit and strong strategic development credentials, so I am delighted that he will be joining our team at Brown Shipley.

‘This is also another significant hire for the London office, as we look to further build our presence in the South.’

In an interview with Wealth Manager last year Healey, who joined from Lloyds Private Bank in May 2016, made clear that he believed that the business could expand on its business in the capital.

‘The real largest opportunity for Brown Shipley is London and [the] south-east. We will build on organic growth and also bring in new bankers that fit culturally,’ he said.
