Buck departs T. Rowe Price LatAm fund

Jose Costa Buck has left T. Rowe Price, where he managed its £570 million Latin American Equity fund, Wealth Manager can reveal.

Buck has been succeeded by Verena Wachnitz, who has worked on T. Rowe Price’s Latin America equity investment research team for more than 10 years.

Within that team, Wachnitz had responsibility for the telecommunications, financials, materials, and real estate sectors; she also covered nine companies that represented 30% of the fund’s assets.

Over the past three years the Sicav version of the strategy has lost 30.5%, compared with an average fall of 29.2% from its peer group, although on a five-year view it has still returned 91.1% against a sector average of 71.8%.
