Charles Stanley hires Redmayne Bentley Oxford trio

Charles Stanley hires Redmayne Bentley Oxford trio

Charles Stanley has hired a three-strong team from Redmayne's Abingdon office in Oxford.

The team comprises Helen Merrington-Rust MBE, John Shelvey and Sara Anscombe and doubles the number of investment managers in Charles Stanley's existing Oxford branch, which was established in 1994.

Prior to Redmayne, Merrington-Rust spent 15 years with the army, while Shelvey and Sara Anscombe had spells at Majedie Investments and Thesis, respectively.

Oxford branch head Simon Scott-White (pictured) hopes the hires will provide a significant boost to the division's assets under administration and revenues, while offering a range of opportunities to broaden its service.

'This is a logical move for Charles Stanley and very much in the interests of the new teams’ existing clients,' he said. 'I wish them well in building their business and look forward to successfully integrating them with the team.'

Charles Stanley group director Gary Teper outlined the potential of the university city. 'Oxford has undoubtedly been one of the success stories in our regional office network and with major investment, technology and sciences led development happening in and around the City, we see some very significant growth opportunities going forward.'

Poaching teams has been a hot topic of late with Charles Stanley at the centre of the news.

Last month Wealth Manager revealed Brewin Dolphin is suing six former employees who quit the firm to launch a Leicester proposition for Charles Stanley, claiming they had breached their contracts.

The Leicester Six subsequently launched a fierce defence in a 41-page document, describing why they had become 'seriously disillusioned'  with their former employer.
