Last week Citywire held its first ever investment trust awards, in which 18 gongs were handed out to the top investment talent across a range of sectors.

The winners were selected by a judging panel comprising Charles Cade (head of investment companies research at Numis Securities), Genevra Banszky von Ambroz (fund manager Smith & Williamson), John Newlands (founder of Newlands Fund Research and former head of investment companies research at Brewin Dolphin) and John Spiers (chief executive EQ Investors).

The ceremony was held at the Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe, overlooking the Thames and the City of London and was attended by number of award-winning investment trust managers. They were joined by leading wealth managers from the likes of Brewin Dolphin, Brooks Macdonald and Seven Investment Management.
