Close Brothers Asset Management has hired Tim Eliot-Cohen from Rathbones as managing director of its high net worth bespoke business.
Eliot-Cohen (pictured) will spearhead the launch of a new office in the west end of London and develop the company's high net worth arm.
Previously he spent 16 years at Rathbones, leading a team of wealth managers.
In his new role he will report into chief investment officer Nancy Curtin and will be responsible for managing multi-asset portfolio for HNW clients.
Martin Andrew, chief executive, said: 'We are thrilled that Tim is joining CBAM to help lead an exciting new phase in our growth.
'His extensive investment and client experience, as well as his leadership skills and sheer enthusiasm, are terrific attributes to bring to our team as we look to expand our award-winning investment offering.'
Close Brothers has been on an expansion drive this year, which included the acquisition of Coventry-based IFA Adrian Smith & Partners to establish a presence in the Midlands.
It also recently hired Mark Rowe-Ham from Brewin Dolphin as an investment manager.
