Duffield's Brompton hires ex-IMS chief John as multi-asset boss

John Duffield's investment firm Brompton Asset Management has hired Antony John as head of multi-asset.

John (pictured) served as chief executive of Investment Management Selection (IMS), which controlled some £5 billion in assets.

Following the firm's purchase by BNP Paribas in 2008, he became chief executive of the UK arm of FundQuest.

He left the firm in August 2012 following a strategic overhaul.  

Duffield said: Over the years Antony has established himself as a leading business builder within the multi-asset sector. I am, therefore, very pleased he has joined us to help us further develop our multi-asset business.’

John added: 'I have known Brompton’s senior people for many years and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with them in building a first-class multi-asset business.

'With markets increasingly complex and volatile and regulation intensifying, investors recognise the importance of diversification and that multi-asset.'

Brompton was founded by Duffield 2009 alongside a group of his former colleagues from Jupiter and New Star.
