EQ Investors has promoted rising star Sophie Kennedy to its board of directors.
Kennedy (née Muller) (pictured) was one of the up and coming individuals featured in last year’s Wealth Manager Top 30 Under 30.
She joined EQ Investors in 2015 when founder John Spiers swooped on his old firm Bestinvest to hire a team of four, which included Kennedy and Mike Neumann, the architect of its discretionary business.
Neumann would join the firm a year later after a lengthy period of gardening leave.
Since then, Kennedy was promoted from senior investment analyst to head of research in September 2016.
Kennedy has responsibility for investment research across EQ Investors.
She leads a six-strong team covering both open and closed-ended funds, as well as tax-efficient investments including Enterprise Investment Scheme and Venture Capital Trusts. She is also a member of both the firm’s asset allocation and investment management committees.
She spent four years at Bestinvest, where she started her career in 2011.
