Ex-Schroders exec Noach joins Santander

Santander Asset Management has bolstered its board with the hire of an-ex senior figure from Schroders.

Robert Noach joins Santander as a non-executive director, having left Schroders earlier this year.

Noach had worked at Schroders since 2001, serving as its head of global financial institutions group from 2008 until his departure.

‘We are delighted that we will be able to benefit from Robert’s extensive experience of the UK investment landscape, and look forward to a long and productive working relationship,’ said Jeff Scott, chief executive of Santander Asset Management UK.

Santander Asset Management UK has over £19 billion of assets under management, with more than half a million customers.

Late last year Santander poached another Schroders alumnus, David Scammell, as a senior sovereign bond fund manager for its £357 million Sterling Government Bond fund.

And for a push into the intermediary space, at the end of 2013 Santander launched five risk-rated multi-manager funds for Tom Caddick and Toby Vaughan.
