F&C hires A-rated Fox to lead multi-asset as Kinsey-Quick exits

F&C Investments has poached A-rated manager Ben Fox to head up its multi-alternative asset business.

Fox joins from the firm he founded, Goodhart Partners, to replace current boss Ken Kinsey-Quick (pictured), who is set to leave at the end of March. Alex Jones, a portfolio analyst at Goodhart, will also transfer to the F&C multi-alternative team.

Fox will co-head the team with Kinsey-Quick's departure until the latter's departure.

As part of the arrangement Fox will bring across his top performing Goodhart Partners Horizon Target Return fund.

The fund has made 10.3% over the last three years compared the 2.43% return in its Libor GBP 3 Month benchmark, and is ranked fourth out of 15 in the funds of funds sector.

'Developing our multi-asset business is a core focus for F&C in 2013, and Ben’s appointment is a significant step in the building of our capabilities in the multi alternatives component of this.

'Ben is not only a highly regarded manager, with an outstanding record, but the Target Return fund is a strong complement to our existing range, and provides a compelling investment opportunity for investors,' said Mandy Mannix, head of client service and distribution at F&C.'

Prior to founding Goodhart, Fox managed retail strategies in the fund of funds team at Fidelity and institutional strategies as head of fixed income research at Aon Consulting.
