FinnCap hires investment trust team

FinnCap has hired a two-strong team for an investment trust offering.

Paul Harrington joins from Westhouse Securities and James Simpson from Jefferies.

Harrington has more than 20 years’ experience in investment funds and has worked for a number of broker houses including Fairfax and Cenkos.

Meanwhile Simpson, who was responsible for market-making in UK listed investment trusts has more than 20 years’ experience including stints at Canaccord Genuity, Winterflood Securities, HSBC Investment Bank and Arbuthnot Securities.  

Commenting on the hires FinnCap chief executive Sam Smith told the market: ‘There are great opportunities in the funds space at the moment and Paul and James bring an enormous wealth of experience to help establish our presence in this market.’
