Former Pru CIO takes Rowan Dartington role

John Betteridge has been appointed as the new chair of Rowan Dartington’s asset allocation committee.

Betteridge, who has also become a non-executive director of the firm, was formerly chief investment officer of Prudential UK’s insurance division.

In that role, Betteridge was responsible for assets worth more than £150 billion and controlled investment strategy and monitoring across Prudential’s with-profit, annuity, unit-linked and collective schemes.

Betteridge additionally headed the group’s PMG investment management business, leading a team of economists, portfolio managers, quantitative analysts and actuaries.

‘We have got to know John over the last few months, and he is a great fit for our culture and values, as well as bringing an exceptional track record of truly strategic investment oversight, for one of the UK’s largest insurers,’ commented Graham Coxell (pictured), executive chairman of Rowan Dartington.

‘John coming on board is another example of how far we have come as a business over the last three years. He is a fantastic addition to the team.’
