Hargreave Hale rehires industry veteran for Lancaster office

Hargreave Hale has re-hired investment manager Doug Jones for the firm’s Lancaster office.

Jones was an assistant branch manager at Hargreave Hale’s Blackpool office, where he worked from 2004 until 2015. He re-joins from Hedley & Co Stockbrokers.

He previously held roles at RBS, Deutsche Bank and UBS, and has over 20 years’ experience in the industry with 16 years being in private client stockbroking.

Commenting on the appointment, Lancaster branch manager, Andrew Garstang (pictured), said: ‘We are pleased to welcome Doug back into the Hargreave Hale fold.

‘He is an experienced investment manager who is familiar with our culture and the emphasis we place on providing a first-class service.’

Jones said: ‘I am pleased to once again be part of Hargreave Hale and look forward to working with the Lancaster team and delivering quality investment management solutions for clients and professional advisers in the area.’

Jones joins Hargreave Hale after it was acquired by Canaccord Genuity in a surprise £80 million deal.

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management (CGWM) CEO and former Wealth Manager cover star David Esfandi said he was very impressed by the quality and calibre of people within Hargreave Hale.

Esfandi said the rationale for the acquisition ‘is underpinned by it being complementary rather than duplicative’.

He added: ‘We are committed to investing in and accelerating the growth of Hargreave Hale’s fund management and private client wealth management operations for the benefit of the clients, staff and shareholders of both firms.’
