Henderson beefs up product team with ex-Schroders & Gartmore duo

Henderson beefs up product team with ex-Schroders & Gartmore duo

Henderson has hired former Gartmore head of communications Steve Jenner to be head of customer strategy as part of its attempt to grow its international business.

Since leaving Gartmore in December 2011 Jenner has set up consultancy firm OM Solutions.

The firm has also taken on Calyn Chan Gardner, who previously worked at Schroders, as product development manager for Europe and Asia.

'We have been very clear about our intention to continue growing our business internationally,' James Bowers, head of product at Henderson said.

'To do this we need the infrastructure internally to help support our increasing capabilities. Calyn will play a leading role in managing our growing product pipelines in Europe and Asia. Steve will act as customer champion within the business and be responsible for a number of new customer-centric initiatives in both the product area and the wider business.'

Henderson chief executive Andrew Formica (pictured) has been vocal about the firm's intentions to expand globally, and in November hired Andrew Gillan from Aberdeen Asset Management to head up its Asia ex-Japan equities team.
