IMA funds regulation director Patterson exits for KPMG

IMA funds regulation director Patterson exits for KPMG

Julie Patterson, regulatory affairs director for investment funds & retail at the Investment Management Association (IMA) is exiting for a post with KPMG.

Patterson, who has been with the trade body for 15 years, will depart at the end of August to become a director in KPMG’s European financial services regulatory centre of excellence covering the investment management sector.

The IMA noted Patterson had helped to shape and influence legislation and regulation around the investment management industry, including the introduction of five sets of Ucits rules and the AIFMD. She also spearheaded major reform of the UK fund tax regime and the introduction of new fund structures.

'Julie’s knowledge and experience are unique and her contribution to the promotion and development of asset management in the UK cannot be underestimated. We wish her all the best in her new role,' Daniel Godfrey, chief executive of the IMA, said.

KPMG global head of investment management Tom Brown added: 'As our clients enter the implementation stage of the regulatory journey - and there is a further drive across Europe toward greater investment and product protection - we are delighted to have Julie on board during this period of change.'
