Investec W&I's Leatham joins Peel Hunt to build investment trust arm

Investec W&I's Leatham joins Peel Hunt to build investment trust arm

Investec Wealth & Investment’s fund research analyst Anthony Leatham is to join Peel Hunt to help build its new investment trust arm.

Leatham (pictured) is leaving Investec after seven years. He will join Peel Hunt as head of investment trust research - an area where the firm is planning to launch a dedicated brokerage division.

As part of this push, Peel Hunt has hired head of investment trusts at JP Morgan Cazenove David Kininmonth, who has been appointed an LLP member.

He has been joined by ex-Martin Currie head of discretionary sales Mark Thompson, who has been appointed head of investment company sales, alongside Luke Simpson, head of corporate investment companies and market maker Ben Hammond.

Leatham appeared in Citywire's 2014 wealth management fund selectors. He covered US and global equity funds, as well as ETFs at Investec W&I.

Investec W&I confirmed the departure and said it is looking for a replacement.
