Jacob Rees-Mogg's boutique reaches out to Europe with funds deal

The boutique co-founded by ardent Brexit campaigner Jacob Rees-Mogg (pictured) is opening up its flagship dividend growth fund to a new audience – Europe.

The London-based group has established a feeder fund for its MI Somerset Emerging Market Dividend Growth fund, granting access to investors from outside the UK.

A Dublin-domiciled feeder fund is set to allow this access to the UK-domiciled fund, which has £1.4 billion (€1.6 billion) in assets under management and is overseen by Edward Lam.

Somerset Capital Management said the decision to launch the feeder for the OEIC was in direct response to increased offshore demand from investors.

Rees-Mogg, a Conservative MP, was a vociferous supporter of the Leave campaign, which was successful in the UK’s European Union referendum in 2016.

Rees-Mogg is still a partner at Somerset Capital Management.
