Jupiter Asset Management has appointed Ash Ray as head of governance research, focusing on broadening the team's work across all geographies and asset classes.
Ray has worked at Jupiter for 10 years as part of the governance team and in his new role will report directly to Stephen Pearson, CIO and chairman of the stewardship committee.
The new role will involve leading a team of analysts providing research and guidance on regulatory requirements and best practice.
Vice chairman Edward Bonham Carter (pictured) will continue with his policy and public engagement work in line with his role as board member of the Investor Forum and a member of Jupiter's board and stewardship committee.
Pearson commented: 'We are proud of our standing as a Tier 1 signatory to the UK Stewardship Code. We consider good governance to be an essential component of good investment outcomes for our clients and this is why our fund managers are so directly involved in the process. Ash has become an influential subject matter expert and a leader of the expansion of our governance work across our investment teams. I am delighted to see his contribution recognised in this way.'
