Jupiter hires Bluebay US credit specialist for bond team

Jupiter has hired BlueBay US corporate credit analyst Charlie Spelina for a specialist role in its fixed income team as it deepens the management skillset on its £13 million unconstrained strategy.

Spelina has a decade of experience in both North American and European fixed income, previously as a buy side trader. His hire brings the team to nine, following the recruitment of two emerging market debt specialists this year, beneath Jupiter’s head of credit research Hilary Blandy.

Manager of the Jupiter Strategic Bond and Jupiter Dynamic Bond funds Ariel Bezalel (pictured) said: ‘Independent credit research has always been a cornerstone of our approach.

‘Charlie’s experience in the US market makes him the perfect candidate to further expand the team’s wealth of regional expertise. We look forward to working with him to generate fresh investment ideas for the strategy.’

Over the last three years Citywire + rated Bezalel’s Jupiter Strategic Bondfund has returned 13.2% versus a peer group average of 13.3%.
