Lazard launches offshore version of its Global Equity Income fund

Lazard Asset Management is launching a Dublin-domiciled version of its £315 million Global Equity Income fund, which the company said is in response to client demand.

The fund will run by Patrick Ryan and team, and benchmarked against the MSCI AC World Index.

The onshore version is fourth quartile of the IMA Global Equity Income Sector over one year to the end of January. It is third quartile over three years, having returned 8.1% compared to a 7.3% rise in the MSCI AC World index.

Tony Maddock, head of third party distribution at Lazard, said: 'The launch of this offshore version of the Global Equity Income fund has been very much driven by client demand, and will satisfy the needs of those that prefer to access funds that are domiciled offshore.'
