LGIM’s Helena Morrissey made a dame in Honours list

Helena Morrissey, head of personal investing at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), has been made a dame in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Stephen Lansdown has been awarded the CBE for services in business and the community in Bristol, while UK Financial Investments non-executive director Lucinda Riches was also made a CBE.

Morrissey (pictured), who joined LGIM in January and was previously CEO of Newton and chair of the Investment Management Association, won recognition for her efforts to improve diversity in the industry.

She co-founded the 30% Club, a campaign to increase female representation on FTSE 100 boards, back in 2010. In the seven years since, the organisation said that the number of female blue chip board members has more than doubled from 12.5% to 27%.

Lansdown’s honour sees him join his former colleague Peter Hargreaves and star income fund manager Neil Woodford in the CBE club.
