Newscape hires ex-HSBC GAM absolute return head

Newscape Capital Group has hired ex-HSBC Global Asset Management head of absolute return Charlie Morris to be its head of multi-asset.

Morris, who joined the firm in May, will in addition to working on Newscape Capital’s model portfolio service take over the running of its Diversified Growth fund.

Morris left HSBC Asset Management in April last year after spending 17 years of this career at the business. Whilst at the firm he was lead manager on the HSBC Wealth Opportunities fund. During his time there he also managed the HSBC Global Trend fund between 2005 and 2009.

Between leaving HSBC Asset Management and joining Newscape Capital, he was investment director at the Fleet Street Letter for nine months. Prior to that, Morris was chief executive officer and co-founder of CCData.CC a Blockchain platform.
