North Investment Partners' Roberts teams up with Lanning at JP Morgan AM

North Investment Partners' Roberts teams up with Lanning at JP Morgan AM

JP Morgan Asset Management has bolstered Tony Lanning's fund of funds team with the hire of North Investment Partners Nicholas Roberts.

Roberts will work alongside division head Lanning (pictured) on the JPM Fusion fund of funds range.

Lanning joined from Henderson Global Investors earlier this year to spearhead the Fusion range, which launched in March 2013 and brings together the investment expertise from the firm's investment management and private bank arms. It consists of five risk graded funds of funds.

At North, Roberts worked alongside John Husselbee on seven multi-manager funds and range of risk graded model portfolios.

Prior to this he served as an analyst in Gartmore's multi-manager team, where he contributed to the investment performance of four multi-manager funds with the development of macro economic views and subsequent portfolio positioning, selection and analysis to implement the team’s outlook.

Roberts' career has also included a spell as head of funds research at Williams de Broë.

Commenting on his decision to join JP Morgan, Roberts said: JP Morgan’s new Fusion range is an exciting opportunity. A key attraction of the role was the ability to draw upon a fantastic resource at the asset allocation level, whilst also having access to a highly impressive manager selection team.

Lanning added: 'Nick’s extensive qualitative and quantitative research background in fund selection and his ability to communicate the value of the multi-manager investment proposition will further enhance the team.'
