Pictet boosts EMD team with Schroders hire

Luke Chua has joined Pictet Asset Management as senior investment manager on the firm's emerging market corporate bond team.

Chua formerly worked at Schroders, where he managed the firm’s Emerging Markets Corporate Bond fund in Singapore.

The appointment is the latest in Pictet’s emerging market debt recruitment drive, following last year’s hiring of Karen Lam as client portfolio manager and Anya Kopyleva and Ivan Fernandez as analysts.

‘Luke’s arrival completes the emerging corporate bonds team at Pictet Asset Management,’ confirmed Alain-Nsiona Defise, Pictet’s head of emerging corporate bonds.

The £644 million Pictet Emerging Corporate Bonds fund has returned 0.68% since its inception in November 2012, compared with 0.98% from its JP Morgan Cembi Broad Diversified Composite index.
