Quilter Cheviot has hired three investment managers to form a new private client team in its London office.
Mats Arthursson and Suneet Kumar will join the firm in October, while James Gatehouse joined earlier this month.
The team will be led by Arthursson (pictured), who is set to join from Arbuthnot Latham, where he has most recently been a director of investment management.
Arthursson will report to Andrew McGlone, Quilter’s managing director for London investment management, and will head up the new team which will focus mainly on private clients.
Kumar will join from Seven Investment Management, where he is an investment relationship manager, and Gatehouse has joined from stockbroking and investment management firm Fiske, where he was a senior investment manager.
The appointments comes after Donald Norman, a founding partner of Cheviot who was head of private clients, left the firm in March this year after 10 years at the business.
At the time, Quilter Cheviot said no replacement would be sought for his role, with his responsibilities absorbed by the executive team.
Commenting on his appointment and the formation of the new private client team, Arthursson said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Quilter Cheviot and look forward to working alongside both James and Suneet.
‘I have significant experience in managing discretionary portfolios on behalf of high net worth clients, and am excited to utilise the firm’s renowned research expertise in developing investment solutions to meet the needs of our clients.’
McGlone added: ‘The appointment of this experienced trio demonstrates our ongoing commitment to bringing in the best investment management talent in the market and we hope to add to this new team in the months ahead.’
The three hires will bring the total number of investment managers in the firm's London office to 69.
Quilter's Bristol office has also expanded its investment management team recently by hiring Nikolas Ramsey.
Ramsey has joined the firm after 13 years at Charles Stanley, where he performed discretionary investment manager and chartered wealth manager roles.
