Rathbones board member steps down to join Close

Rathbones' non-executive director Oliver Corbett has stepped down from the board to join Close Brothers.

Corbett, the chief financial officer of LCH.Clearnet Group, will join the board of rival Close Brothers as an independent non-executive director. He will be succeeded by James Dean as chair of Rathbones' audit committee. Dean joined Rathbones' board in November of last year.

Mark Nicholls, chairman of Rathbones commented: 'Oliver has been a director of Rathbones since March 2006 and as such was approaching the end of his nine year tenure as an independent director. The board is very grateful for the very valuable contribution he has made over the years. We wish him well for the future.'

Corbett formerly worked at SG Warburg, Phoenix Securities and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, where he was managing director of investment banking. He was also group finance director of  Novae Group plc from October 2003 to November 2012.
