Rathbones launches private office

The private office Rathbones has been building over the last two years has formally launched.

The wealth manager revealed plans to enter the market in February 2015, saying it was a key strategic initiative.

In the two years since, Rathbones has been bulding the propostion behind the scenes and making a series of hires.

Last May the business said it had partnered with Credit Suisse for the private office.

The business is headed by Ian Dembinski (pictured), who joined the firm last July from Credit Suisse where he led the UK private banking team.

The team includes Natalie Merrens, who joined the business from Kleinwort Benson in October 2015 as head of investment solutions.

The pair are accompanied by client directors Peter Arkell and Alex Dean, who were recruited from Deutsche Bank and RBC respectively.

The private office offers clients a range of specialist private banking products, services and lending solutions.

It complements its existing discretionary business, which runs more than £30 billion in assets.

'The Rathbone Private Office offers clients the full suite of services they require in today’s global financial environment,' Dembinski said.

'Every client will be advised by a team that has spent their entire career growing, protecting and preserving their client’s wealth.'
