RWC replenishes convertibles team after co-manager’s departure

RWC replenishes convertibles team after co-manager’s departure

Star convertible bonds manager David Basile has strengthened his team at RWC after losing his co-manager.

Lakshman Harendran was named in November as joint lead manager with Basile of the RWC Core Plus fund, but has now left the firm.

Harendran moved to RWC from Morgan Stanley in 2010, reuniting with his former colleague Basile.

Basile has now added two further analysts to his team: Laro Escalada from UBS and Uday Sikand, an internal promotion.

They will work alongside existing analysts Michelle Shi and Esther Watt.

Citywire A-rated Basile currently runs three convertible bond strategies: RWC Asia Convertibles, RWC Core Plus, and RWC Global Convertibles.

The flagship £1.3 billion Global Convertibles fund has returned 19.6% over the past three years, compared with a peer group average of 18.2%.
