RWC retail head Bennett joins F&C

F&C has hired RWC's John Bennett as part of a restructuring of its UK wholesale team.

Bennett (pictured),who was head of retail distribution at RWC, will join F&C as head of wholesale institutions, responsible for fund of funds, banks and fund buyers at financial institutions.

Bennett will work alongside Martin Weisinger, who has been appointed as head of wholesale, private wealth. Prior to RWC he was head of JPMorgan's institutional business for 15 years. Weisinger has been at F&C/Thames River for 11 years, and will be responsible for sales into private wealth firms, effective immediately.

Both will report to Rob Thorpe, head of consumer at F&C.

'The UK wholesale market is evolving rapidly and we recognise these clients are not one hollistic group, there are different types of wholesale clients with different needs,' Thorpe said.

RWC chief executive Dan Mannix added: 'Our assets under management have doubled to just under £6 billion today and we have net sales this year of well over £800 million including the launch of the RWC Global Enhanced Dividend fund which is seeing significant interest from across Europe in addition to the £80 million we raised at launch.  Its part of progress that some people will move on as the business develops.'

The new roles have been created following the restructuring of the UK retail team at the start of the year.
