S&W recruits Eden founder to head funds division

S&W recruits Eden founder to head funds division

Smith & Williamson Investment Management has hired the founder of Eden Asset Management and former M&G head of equities Ed Rosengarten to head the company’s pooled fund business.

Rosengarten will also join the company’s investment management and banking board

Co-chief executive and head of investment management and banking at S&W David Cobb (pictured) said: ‘We have an ambitious plan to develop the pooled funds business further and believe that someone with the experience and track record of Ed will play a critical part in the next stage of our growth.

‘Smith & Williamson Investment Management has been going from strength to strength since we took the decision to market the funds business externally five years ago and more latterly to develop our Discretionary Fund Management offering for IFAs.’

Rosengarten was most recently head of UK asset management at Eden until September last year, where he oversaw the integration of the company into City Financial.

He previously spent 18 years at M&G rising to become chief executive for equities and a member of the main board.
