Sanlam boosts London office with wealth hire

Sanlam UK has bolstered its London team with the hire of Daniel Szabo as a portfolio manager.

Szabo, who has 17 years’ experience in the industry, joins from Oxford Capital, where he specialised in working with high net worth clients. Prior to Oxford, he held a variety of roles at Nationwide Building Society, Zurich and Bradford & Bingley. He will report into London office head Stuart McCann.

Szabo said: ‘It is a very exciting time to be joining Sanlam UK and I look forward to delivering first class investment management to clients and helping them achieve their financial objectives.’

Head of portfolio management Charlie Parker (pictured) added: ‘It’s important that we grow our team to meet the changing and growing needs of our client base. Daniel’s experience of working with high net worth individuals and his client-centric approach will mean he is a key addition to the team.’

Sanlam UK now runs over £13 billion of assets, with its private wealth and wealth planning divisions overseeing £2.7 billion and £2 billion, respectively.

Last month the company launched an AIM-based IHT portfolio service and in February it swooped on East Yorkshire financial planner Grennan Advisers.
