Sanlam hires two more from Close for new private office

Sanlam UK's new private office boss has raided her former employer to accelerated the development of the new business.

Penny Lovell (pictured), who joined Sanlam UK from Close Brothers last month to lead the launch, has hired ex-colleagues Jonathan Moon and Will Cayzer.

Moon joins as a business development director and Cayzer business development assisant respectively.

Prior to Close, where he was business development director, Moon held similiar roles at Tilney Investment Management and Tilney Bestinvest. Cayzer previously worked at Fleming Family and Partners.

Sanlam's private office is an extension of the firm's vertical integration strategy, providing services for clients with assets north of £1 million.

Lovell, a former Wealth Manager cover star, said: 'Both Jonathan and Will are highly talented professionals with a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of high net worth individuals.

'I have worked with them closely over a number of years and I am confident that, together, we can create a first-class high net worth private office proposition at Sanlam UK.'

Sanlam group CEO Jonathan Polin added: 'The launch of a private office extends our service in the UK and bolsters our ability to offer tailored solutions for high net worth clients.

'Penny’s team will deliver a high quality private office proposition and will be central to us cementing our position as one of the UK’s leading wealth managers.'
