Santander hires ex-Schroders bond man Scammell

David Scammell, Schroders' former head of UK interest rate strategies, has joined Santander Asset Management as a senior sovereign bond fund manager.

At Santander, Scammell will manage the £360 million Santander Asset Management Government Bond fund, and work with the European fixed income team across its fund range on euro and sterling interest rates.

‘We are delighted that David has joined us, and he will be a crucial addition to Santander Asset Management’s European fixed income team,’ commented Adam Cordery, head of European fixed income at Santander.

Scammell also ran the Schroder ISF Euro Liquidity and Schroder Gilt and Fixed Interest funds.
