Schroders hires Franklin Templeton multi-manager

Schroders hires Franklin Templeton multi-manager

Fund analyst Gilles Cozma has left Franklin Templeton to join rival asset manager Schroders in a market intelligence role, according to our sister publication Citywire Selector.

Cozma had worked for the US group since joining from TPM Capital in late 2013, having previously held fund analyst roles at Skandia and Pictet.

The appointment of Cozma coincides with Marc Micoud joining Schroders from BlackRock to also serve as a market intelligence manager. Both will report to Sasha Miller, who oversees the specialist unit.

In his new role, Cozma, who stepped down from Franklin Templeton at the start of September, is more focused on strategy and aiding, developing and providing intelligence on economic markets.

During his time with Franklin Templeton, Cozma had worked as part of the multi-asset operations, which includes both fund analysis and direct investments.

Prior to joining Schroders, Micoud was most recently a director in BlackRock’s corporate strategy and development team for MENA. He also worked within BlackRock’s Global Market Intelligence team for five years until 2014.

Commenting on the hire, Sasha Miller, head of market intelligence at Schroders, said: ‘Against the rapidly evolving landscape for asset management and financial services companies generally, we continue to believe that firms that are able to analyse emerging shifts in client demand and respond accordingly with relevant solutions will have a key strategic advantage.’
